My Home Office Reveal
When I started remodeling my great room area, I didn’t have plans to change the office. But it wasn’t long before I decided the office could use a refresh. One of the first changes we made was to paint the walls a deep green. I have been loving the dark and moody look, and I knew changing the paint from light to dark would have a big impact. After trying a few paint samples on my walls, I settled on Narragansett Green by Benjamin Moore. It is the perfect mix between green and blue and I absolutely love it. I shifted the furniture around, added a new light fixture, and created an art wall from ceiling to floor. I have always been inspired by the Parisian apartment look, where rooms look collected, full, and interesting. I wanted to create a maximalist look with lots of color, collectibles, books, and art. Most of the art has a special significance; pieces that were collected on trips and pieces that were gifted to me. My favorite art is the watercolor paintings by my dad. The last thing I added to the office that had a huge impact was the faux fireplace. I love thrift shopping and found a solid wood fireplace surround that was in great shape. I painted it black, added a mirror to the interior, and bolted it onto the wall. It creates a focal point in the office that I really love. Most of the items in this office were thrifted, gifted, or found at a consignment store. It has been a fun process bringing all of my collections together to create my dark and dreamy home office. Enjoy the photos! xo -Rebekah
